Rally for immigration reform set for July 20

HUDSON COUNTY — The Hispanic Political Action Committee (HPAC) will be joined by a number of elected officials at Journal Square on July 20 in a rally for immigration reform. The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Invited speakers include West New York Mayor Felix Roque, Jersey City Council President Rolando Lavarro, Jersey City Councilman-at-large Daniel Rivera, Executive Director of Local 32BJ Union Kevin Brown, New York District 10 Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, Jerry Walker, President of Jersey City non-profit Team Walker, Hilario Crispin, President of the Dominican American Alliance of NJ, among other community leaders.
“Elected officials and community leaders are uniting from across Hudson County for this issue” states HPAC President Elvin Dominici “The crisis of 11 million undocumented Americans is exceptionally important and the amount of support we have received clearly shows it.”
HPAC invites all members of the community in support of the bi-partisan Immigration Reform bill to bring their friends and family to the rally. Homemade signs are welcome. – By Al Sullivan
