RECAP: ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey,’ Season 5 Episode 6 – Retreat! Please!

HOBOKEN AND BEYOND — We’re back with another recap of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” the reality show that features a few Hoboken residents and one Hoboken restaurant — so we’ve got a good reason to recap the good, the bad, and the overly tan and muscled.

Tonight’s episode

There were a few bright moments in this week’s episode, most of all the silly fight that Jacqueline has on the phone with Teresa. Kathy Wakile and Jacqueline are shopping in a little boutique when Teresa calls. She wants the whole gang to go on a retreat to iron things out. Teresa says it’s fine to include Jacqueline, because actually, Jacqueline’s responsible for the trouble between her and her brother.
Jacqueline overhears this, grabs the phone from Kathy, and the two of them start a hilarious back-and-forth while Kathy unsuccessfully tries to get her phone back. The camera cuts to various shocked patrons in the store who surely didn’t know that anything was amiss with those Bravo cameras bobbing around.

Melissa Gorga’s book

Also, we find out more about what Melissa Gorga’s book is about. It’s a guide for women to keep their husbands interested. She notes that it’s so easy to take care of the kids, cook dinner, keep the house clean, yada yada, but you have to remember to please your man, too. Hmmm, how many people are hired to help you with those aforementioned chores, Melissa? Just wondering. We’re guessing the answer is NOT zero.

The Manzos of Hoboken

Caroline Manzo is having dinner with husband Albert. She says she would like the two of them to enjoy their retreat in Hoboken together. Albert says, “Your idea of a getaway is to get an apartment in Hoboken ten blocks away from your kids.”
You should have thought of that before you signed the paperwork, bud.

Kumbaya

Finally, Rosie is telling her relatives about the retreat. “It’s in the Adirondike mountains,” she says.
You can fill in your own last line here, because we’ll only get in trouble.
