Resident impressed when Hoboken firefighters play ‘free bird’

HOBOKEN – A resident named Esty sent in this photo of a red-breasted bird (hard to make out) that was apparently trapped in a tree.
Esty writes: “On Tuesday afternoon someone (with very sharp eyes) on Garden street saw a ‘Robin’ trapped on a branch of a Linden tree and called 911. Two police officers came, they called animal control which called the fire department. The ‘Robin’ was freed and flew away. It was a beautiful and heartwarming operation.”
