A funeral mass was offered April 6 at St. Nicholas R.C. Church, Jersey City, for John T. Cribbin, retired Jersey City Police Officer. He died peacefully on April 2. John was born in Jersey City and was a lifetime resident. John started his law enforcement career in 1963 as a horse mounted officer and later became a member of the Jersey City Motorcycle Squad, retiring in 1989. He was an Army Veteran from 1960 to 1964. John was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Toms River American Legion. He was the husband of Martha Cribbin; father of John Michael Cribbin, Joseph Cribbin, Eileen Cribbin and her husband Rich Yuditsky, James Cribbin and his wife Linda and Thomas Cribbin; brother of Margaret Sweeney, James Cribbin, Ruby Cribbin and Patricia Martini; and grandfather of Jacqueline Scotellaro, Natalie Cribbin and John Robert Cribbin.
