Funeral mass took place April 8 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church for Joseph Michael Ascolese, 92, of Hoboken. He passed away April 4 at Calvary Lutheran Hospital, Brooklyn. A lifelong resident of Hoboken, he worked at the family business, Jackson Metals as a youth until he retired in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Joseph was the husband of the late Ethel (nee: Shea); father of Joseph Ascolese III, Camille Guadagno, Victoria Casella and the late Walter Ascolese; brother of Mary Cappilatti. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Joseph and Jeffrey Ascolese, Kim Marie Willis, John Bruschi, Paul Ascolese, Anthony Guadagno, Joseph Casella III and Ashley Casella, and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
