The Manzo family, now largely of Hoboken, and the rest of the cast of the popular reality show “Real Housewives of New Jersey” will return to TV screens starting June 2, according to the website for Bravo TV.
Fans have been anxiously awaiting season 5 after a stormy ending to season 4 last year, involving major squabbling between Teresa Giudice, sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, and others. The Manzo family, some of whom now call Hoboken their home, was also at odds with Giudice.
There will be a new lady causing trouble as well — Hurricane Sandy.
According to Bravo, “The women also find themselves shifting through rubble after Hurricane Sandy leaves much of the Jersey Shore in ruins, including some of their homes. A sense of communal rebuilding encourages Teresa to rise above the past drama with her brother and sister-in-law, Melissa, and mend her family for good. Jacqueline struggles to cope with her son’s autism diagnosis while tensions from her fallout with Teresa push her towards her breaking point. As Caroline fights to shed her reputation as a bully and Melissa strives to break free from the weight of her husband Joe’s family drama, Kathy attempts to step out of her husband’s shadow to find her own voice and launch her career.”
That all sounds a bit too tame. Luckily, we know about an alleged brawl two weekends ago at the Posche II opening (see related links below).
Stay tuned for the new season, which we’ll recap here at hudsonreporter.com, the website for the Hudson Reporter newspapers, based in Hoboken. If you read this far, don’t deny you watch the show!
