Funeral services took place April 2 for Martha A. ‘Ma Dear’ Henry, 97, of Jersey City. She passed away March 22 at the Delaire Nursing Facility in Linden. Martha was very active in the senior citizen community as a colleague, mentor, friend, and participated and organized many communal events including several excursions to various plays, parks, concerts, and dinner banquets. She loved to travel and lived an exuberant life filled with fun and exciting trips. Martha was an avid and loyal member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for more than 45 years. Her passion and vigor was well received by the members of her church; and her cheerful disposition will continue to be a legacy for days on end. Martha is survived by her daughter, Erma Loftin, grandchildren Tyrone Loftin, Linda, Tamara and Anthony Loftin and Carol Lassiter; greatgrandchildren, Kasmin McGhee, Alysha, and Cameron Loftin, Alonzo, Jr., Alia, and Christopher Loftin, Sr., Laneeta Luke, LaMaar and Yvonne Lassiter, Neonta Morrison, LaVahn, Maya and Chase Loftin; and a multitude of great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
