A funeral mass was offered March 25 at the Church of Our Lady of Grace, Hoboken, for Marianna Dolores McCarthy, 72, a lifelong Hoboken resident. She died peacefully but suddenly at home on March 22. Marianna was a retired employee in the Baker’s Division of General Foods at Maxwell House for more than 25 years. A strong woman of faith, Ms. McCarthy was a lifelong daily communicant and a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church. She often attended mass at Saints Peter and Paul Church because of its proximity to Maxwell House, where she was employed. Predeceased by her parents, Mary and Florenze Joseph McCarthy. She will be missed by her only sister, Claire Taglieri; her two nephews, Ronald Taglieri and his wife, Lisa, who she admired dearly; and her nephew John Taglieri, who she missed because of distance and his commitment to his work ethic. A special joy in her life were John’s children, his daughters, Cameron and Morgan Taglieri, and his sons, Ryan and Dylan Taglieri. Marianna shared many friendships in her lifetime, especially her relationships with Mildred and Lawrence Fleming, and Carol Ann Wilson, who were her friends. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
