The ‘Hoboken Sinkhole’ is back and Tweeting again

HOBOKEN — In 2010, when a sinkhole opened up on Hoboken’s Sinatra Drive, someone found it funny enough to start posting Twitter messages as the “HobokenSinkhole.” The messages were sometimes political, and the effort inspired numerous press accounts.
After a sinkhole swallowed a small car in Hoboken Thursday (see below), the Sinkhole was Tweeting again! (Perhaps it’s fitting that as of a few minutes ago he had exactly 666 followers?)
“Listen up people! It’s an election year. I’m just getting started,” Tweeted the sinkhole Friday morning, addressing it to Mayor Dawn Zimmer and rival mayoral candidate Assemblyman Ruben Ramos. The two will square off (but probably not in a sinkhole) in November.
Thursday, the hole noted, “…now I eat cars!”
Will the Sinkhole run for mayor? Will another water main break? Will Chris and Albie Manzo of Real Housewives of New Jersey film a segment about being parched? Will Zimmer and Ramos respond? Zimmer was not so happy about a satirical Hoboken Tim Tebow Tweet-er last year.
