HOBOKEN – City spokesperson Juan Melli issued an update around 12:45 p.m. on the disruption of water service in Hoboken caused by a construction accident at 14th Street and Willow Avenue.
Water company workers attempting to isolate the breakage have turned valves in the water lines and this has caused a gradual return of water pressure in certain sections of the city. He said over the course of the afternoon water service should return to most of the city as the rupture of a 30 inch water main is repaired. The water pressure may be weak at first but should gradually reach normal.
Residents are advised to boil water before drinking for the rest of today.
