Funeral services were celebrated March 20 for Isaias ‘Cucho’ Mercado, 43, of Jersey City. He passed away March 17 at his home. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, he lived most of his life in Jersey City. He worked in the construction field for several years. A man of tremendous faith, Isaias studied to be a minister at Teen Challenge in Pennsylvania. He was the son of Gilberto and Maria Mercado; father of Joel Mercado; brother of Gilbert Mercado; special uncle of William Mercado; and is also survived by his Aunts, Mayra Pagan, Haydee Mercado, Monica Mercado and uncle, Jesus Cancel.
