A funeral mass took place March 20 at St. Anne’s Church, Hoboken, for David M. Lopez, of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully at the home he shared with his mother, Jennifer J. Lopez , and sister, Victoria M. Lopez, on March 17. David is also survived by his brother, Damien L. Lopez of Portland, Ore.; his grandparents Margaret and Joseph P. De Palma III; aunt Roselle Sabella and her husband Angelo; aunt Antonia DePalma Brandt and her husband, Daniel; and uncle, Dr. David J. DePalma. He was predeceased by his uncle Joseph P. DePalma, Jr. David is also survived by his father, Luis D. Lopez of Jersey City. David was a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Jersey City State College where he achieved his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Despite his battle with brain cancer starting in 1994, David worked as a Senior Project Manager for Exodus Communications, as an Account Executive with the MWW Group, a public affairs lobbying firm, and as a real estate agent in his native city, Hoboken. From 2006 to 2011, David was appointed Commissioner to the North Hudson Sewage Authority. Prior to the most recent recurrence of his illness, David served as an assistant to Assemblyman Ruben Ramos in the Hoboken office. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
