BAYONNE — A three-alarm fire gutted one home and affected two buildings on Trembley Court near 15th Street and Avenue E and Bayonne on Wednesday.
Police Chief Ralph Scianni said no one was hurt, but a dog was displaced. Neighbors struggled to lure it out from under a trailer nearby.
The flames roared through the interior of the three-story structure, threatening to bring it down on valliant fire fighters who struggled for hours to get the fire under control.
The fire started in late afternoon and was still fully engaged at rush hour, diverting traffic from both Broadway and Avenue E. Smoke conditions were so bad on Avenue E, firefighters and police had to wear masks.
