Beckelman elected chair of chairman of Hudson County Young Republicans

HOBOKEN — The Hudson County Young Republicans voted to elect Dan Beckelman of Bayonne as Chairman and re-elect Edith Jorge of North Bergen as Vice Chairwoman of the organization. Founded in 1999, the group has grown to thirty voting members and several hundred associate members throughout Hudson County. They will join Treasurer Fernando Villar of West New York and Secretary Rose Pasqua of Hoboken on the executive board.
Beckelman, an auto industry professional, is excited to take leadership of the club at a time when Republicans are looking to build up their urban base and when Governor Chris Christie is at record popularity. “I was born three weeks after the 1985 Kean landslide when Governor Kean carried Hudson County by a huge margin with his inclusive message and great record on the economy. Somehow I think its fitting that I am here when it could happen again this November. I think if our group continues to grow it can be quite influential this year and beyond,” Beckelman stated.
Jorge is the Northeast Regional Coordinator for the New Jersey GOP. She has been the campaign manager for several Republican campaigns. She believes her re-election to a third term shows that her leadership is working and the club has a bright future ahead.
In the upcoming months, the new leadership teams plans to do heavy canvassing for GOP candidates, increase Republican voter declaration and hold social events throughout the County.
