The search

Dear Editor:
At the last Board of Education meeting (2/28/13) I asked the following questions.
#1 How far along is the board in their search for a new superintendent?
#2 Will our present-day superintendent be involved in the process?
#3 If not, why not?
The answer I received to question #1 was in their caucus meeting, (that very night) they discussed the process and were going to interview firms that would assist them in the process of selecting a new superintendent.
For question #2 and #3. President, Jack Mc Stowe together with the rest of the 7 members of the board present that night, refused to answer.
I was disappointed that trustee MaryAnn Weiner, and Sal Manente, did not express their opinion. However, serving along side of them I understand their approach on how they go about accomplishing their goals. Most of their disagreements with other trustees is in caucus.
I pointed out the board that night that to drag your feet in the selection of the new superintendent, to lead our system at this late date was ludicrous.
As I stated many times that this delay only reaffirms my opinion that our new superintendent has already been chosen by the political powers that be in Hudson County, not by the Secaucus Board of Education trustees.
Time will tell! Then, Tom will tell.

Tom Troyer
Former Board of Education Trustee
