Funeral services were held March 5 for Wayne ‘TC’ Mainor. He passed away Feb. 26 at Saint Michael’s Hospital, Newark. He was born on Oct. 12, 1955 at Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital, Jersey City to the late Queen Esther (Bertha) Mainor and Percy Tiller. Wayne was educated in the Jersey City Public School System. He graduated from Public School 22 and attended Lincoln High School for two years. Wayne worked at various jobs throughout his life, the Jersey City Medical Center, Essex Community College and the Jersey City Incinerator Corporation. Wayne loved to write poetry and short stories; he was attempting to write his autobiography with the hopes of one day getting his works published, however life, and life choices and challenges caused Wayne some derailments, but he never stopped hoping and believing in his dream as he continued to write his life story.
Wayne married Sheila (Tiller) Mainor on Oct. 12, 1979, and from this union one daughter was born, Victoria Lovey (Mainor) McNight. Wayne was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Leroy (Limbo) and David Dice Mainor; and niece, Dawn McNeil and uncle Richard Mainor. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sheila Mainor; daughter, Victoria Lovey (Mainor) McNight; two granddaughters, Mianud Tori and Tyhiana; three sisters, Louise Shirley Hampton (Robert Sr.), Barbara Ann Thompson (Carl) and Rita Mainor; 2 nieces, Pastor Robin L. Hampton and Monique Thomas; six nephews, Robert Hampton, Jr., Assemblyman Charles Mainor, Craig Mainor, Chris Mainor and Andre Manior and Jonathan Thompson; aunts, Ethel Morgan (Lawrence), Dorothy Mainor, Frances McKoy and Earline tiller; uncles, James Mainor (Carole), Joseph Mainor and Donald Mainor (Shirley); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
