The 14 athletes representing the Bayonne Recreation Keglers Special Olympics Bowling team turned in fabulous performances at the recently-held 2013 SONJ North Jersey Sectional Bowling meet. The event was contested at the Wallington Lanes (in Wallington, N.J.) and the results follow:
Eighth Place: Richmond McCurnin.
Seventh Place: Ronald Benitez, Maria Bruno, Kaitlyn Frey, Cheryl Olander and Elaina Walsh.
Sixth Place: Deborah Lesane.
Fourth Place: Roger Belanger.
Third Place (Bronze Medal): Charles Cirillo, Dennis Driscoll and Ian Hudacko.
Second Place (Silver Medal): Siearra Battle, Marc Tonzola and Marybeth Yurecko.
The Keglers were accompanied to the meet by their coaches John Valdora, thresa Diaz, Thomas Moody, and Veronica Burns, who were ably assisted by Sheila Hudacko, Fran Tomasso and Rose Marie Yurecko.
All of the Keglers who placed first, second or third have qualified to participate in the 2013 SONJ Chapter Spring Sports Festival at 30 Strikes Lanes, in Stratford, N.J. in late March.
