A mass of Christian burial was held Feb. 7 at Holy Innocents R.C. Church, Neptune, for Patrick White, 87, formerly of Jersey City, currently of Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls. He passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, surrounded by his family. Pat was a retired postal worker who taught by example the importance of a strong family, hard work and responsibility, personal integrity, and community citizenship. He led a Cub Scout pack for over 25 years. He was an early recycling advocate through the Boy Scouts of America Save Our American Resources (SOAR) program. Pat was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Elks and the American Legion. He enjoyed time spent with family, trips to Atlantic City and the game of bridge.
Patrick was predeceased by Madeline, his wife of 62 years; son Kevin White; brothers John, Jim, Tommy; and sister Margie Damico. He is survived by his sister Mary McGuire, sister in law Sr. Ann Miller, daughters Maureen Genovese, Patricia Berkowitz; son in law Paul Berkowitz; granddaughters Christine Genovese, Lindsay McGurrin, Karen Berkowitz, Lisa Berkowitz, Amy Berkowitz; great grandaughter Madeline McGurrin; and many nieces and nephews.
