All-star line up for Catholic Schools Week

HUDSON COUNTY — Hudson Catholic will welcome former NY Giants player Cecil Lee Rouson to its National Catholic Schools Week assembly on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. Hudson County Freeholder and Hudson Catholic Consultative Board member Bill O’Dea will deliver a Freeholder Proclamation, and Dr. Joel Nunez, clinical psychologist and elder at Cityline Church in Jersey City, will deliver a talk on “Reaching Goals While Not Forgetting Faith.”
Cecil Lee Rouson, who spent seven seasons in the NFL with the Giants and the Cleveland Browns, works as a motivational speaker for Sports World Ministries, travelling to schools and churches around the United States. He is also associate pastor at New Horizon Community Church and has served as northern New Jersey director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
In addition to guest speakers Cecil Lee Rouson and Dr. Joel Nunez, Hudson Catholic alumnus and parent Mr. Emilio Ramos, 19 year member of the J.C.P.D., will be participating in the presentation by presenting the school with its official mascot. Mr. Ramos currently serves as a member of the elite Emergency Services Unit of the J.C.P.D. and was a Bomb Tech instructor, as well. Associate Principal Dr. Herrera commented, “We are appreciative of the continued support as Hudson Catholic continues to stay true to its mission of encouraging individual development and responsibility to the community.”
“We are excited to have this diverse group of people joining us as we celebrate National Catholic Schools Week,” said President/Principal Mr. Richard Garibell. “It will be a valuable experience for our students to hear the messages of faith in action from our guest speakers.”
