MEADOWLANDS AND BEYOND – Several events taking place during the 2014 Super Bowl, which is being held on Feb. 2 at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, were announced Thursday by Gov. Chris Christie.
According to the governor’s office, the NFL’s Tailgate Party, which takes place hours before the game, will take place at the Grandstand at the Meadowlands Racetrack. Reporters will be able to interview players from both teams during Media Day, which will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark on Jan. 28, 2014. Both teams will stay in New Jersey hotels and practice in the state.
The NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee’s pre-game party will be held in New Jersey. Postgame parties for both participating teams will also be held within the state at venues to be announced.
An estimated 150,000 out-of-town visitors are expected in the area during Super Bowl 2014. MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford holds 82,500 people.
