North Bergen resident arrested for multiple drug charges

NORTH BERGEN — Police made a major drug bust in North Bergen on Friday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m., according to North Bergen Police Sgt. David Dowd.
An arrest and search warrant were served to Raymond Mitchell, 66 of Grand Avenue. According to Sgt. Dowd, the home search led to the seizure of 15 grams of cocaine, in the form of 43 baggies for alleged distribution. Police also confiscated 160 pills of Oxycodone, 150 pills of Xanax, 13 pills of Methadone. Also seized were two airsoft guns, one starter pistol, and a switch blade, said Sgt Dowd.
“The three guns look almost exactly like a real gun but they are more of the BB pellet type guns,” said Dowd.
Mitchell was charged with multiple possessions of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), multiple counts of possession of CDS near a school zone, distribution within 500 feet of a park, distribution within 500 feet of a housing project, three counts of unlawful possession of a handgun, and one count of prohibited weapons and devices charge for the switchblade. His bail was set at $100,000.
He also had an outstanding warrant out of Paramus for impersonation, which is an alleged identity theft charge.
