“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus,” said the famed 1897 editorial in the New York Sun – and he has made many stops in Secaucus this holiday season. From festive fun at the annual parade to the Kiwanis Santa Saturday at Clarendon to annual pictures in the Town Center, Santa has listened to the wishes of many local children. He even has a special mailbox set up in the center of town for letters designated for the North Pole that are written by kids young and old.
Traditions
Secaucus has long held on to certain traditions, like Kiwanis Santa Saturday. Since the early 1950s, Kiwanis has hosted Santa and Mrs. Claus. While they were once flown in by helicopter, they now arrive on the pink breast cancer awareness fire truck.
Holiday cheer and celebration have taken over the town.
____________
Finally, for those who haven’t yet had their chance to meet Chris Kringle, on Dec. 16 he’ll be on ice skates at the Secaucus Ice Rink at 3 p.m.

Holiday festivities kicked off with the tree lighting at the Xchange Development at the end of November and the annual holiday bazaar and tree lighting held at the town center the first day of December.
