BRUZGIS, SSG. MICHAEL

A mass of Christian burial was offered Dec. 12 at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church, Riverside, for SSg. Michael Bruzgis, of Delanco, formerly of Secaucus. He died Nov. 30 while serving in the United States Army having served with distinction for two tours of duty in Iraq and one tour of duty in Afghanistan where he earned two Bronze Stars and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Ssg. Bruzgis is survived by his mother Harriett Bruzgis; brothers Thomas and Christopher; two nieces, Emily and Elizabeth, and was predeceased by his father Thomas Bruzgis Sr. Ssg. Bruzgis devoted his life to the service of our country but also was a son, brother, uncle and friend and had a tremendous impact on so many lives, including befriending and consoling of the surviving family members of fallen soldiers. He had specialized training in several fields including but not limited to ‘Pathfinder’ and ‘Paratrooper’ and cross trained in American and foreign weapons. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
