JANNUZZI, JOSEPHINE LORETTA

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Nov. 30 at St. Aedan’s Church for Josephine Loretta Jannuzzi, 91. She passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by her family on Monday, on Nov. 26. Born in New York City, Josephine lived in Jersey City for over 70 years. She was a longtime and faithful parishioner of St. Aedan’s Church and a member of St. Aedan’s Rosary Society and Golden Club. Josephine was a legal secretary for many years, employed by the Alan Kraut Law Office in Jersey City and later, for the office and law firm of Congressman Frank Guarini. She was also a member of The Business and Professional Women’s Club. Josephine was an avid reader of The Jersey Journal and was a frequent contributor to the paper’s “In Your Opinion” Page.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Anthony J. Jannuzzi and siblings Jean Bongiovanni, Mary Chiello, Anna Castrogiovanni and Peter Bongiovanni. She is survived by her daughters, Antonia Houlihan and husband Larry and Madeline Dyas and partner Sue; grandmother of David Houlihan (Tom), Patrice Chojnacki (Bob), Lynn Ortiz (Steve), James Dyas (Mandy), Jason Dyas (Joyce); great grandmother of Robert, James, Justin, Lucas and Addison. Josephine is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends throughout the community who will miss her dearly. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
