Funeral services were held Nov. 26 for Louis ‘Luigi’ Niglio, 88, a retired Jersey City Fire Captain, former Atlantic City Jitney driver and longtime resident of Toms River. He passed away Nov. 21. He was born in Jersey City as the son of Rosario and Nicholas Niglio. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Louis exemplified altruism and compassion throughout his life, whether he was rescuing victims from burning buildings, working extra jobs to support his family or by simply driving his grandchildren to school. Louis continues to be a source of wonderful memories shared by many whose love will never be forgotten and will always be passed on. He leaves behind his wife Shirley; two sons Nicholas and David; daughter Denise; grandchildren Louis, Nikki, Scot, Elton, Evelyn; great grandchildren Eve, Claire, Katherine, John Paul, Cecilia; and his sister Carmela. Services arranged by the Kedz Funeral Home, Toms River.
