Dear Editor:
Hurricane Sandy was the biggest and most destructive storm to hit New Jersey and the East Coast devastating communities in a massive scale. Thousands of homes in our communities were without power and heat and remained in the dark until recently when power was restored. The storm also disrupted schools throughout New Jersey forcing many districts to close for more than a week. As usual our community came together. As always under the leadership and vision of Mayor and State Senator Brian P. Stack our city put together four shelters so that hundreds of residents could stay warm and safe.
Prior to this big hurricane Mayor Stack had an approval of 87 percent of people that have indicated that they support his position. In the recent presidential election it is clear that US Senator Robert Menendez received high record numbers because simply Mayor Stack extended his support to the Senators candidacy.
This presidential election clearly indicates that in order to win the white house the candidate running for
president must get the support of Latinos and Afro-American vote in decisive numbers. In the next Gubernatorial election in New Jersey the Latino vote will play a big role in who the next Governor will be.
With Respect,
