Dear Editor:
The songs written during war times always fascinate me. They captured a point in time placing a musical beat to it. One particular song popular during Word War One “Over There” in my opinion was without a doubt a classic example of the things to come and the conclusion of what hopefully was to come.
So, in keeping with the spirit of Veterans Day, and keeping Secaucus residents up to date regarding the upcoming war between the Secaucus Board of Education and Mayor Gonnelli, I submit the following words to the tune, Over There.
To bus them all, was a big mistake.
And the reason the mayors given is a fake
It’s not about safety, never was bout safety
Its all about going out a gate.
When you bus one, it isn’t fair,
What’s good for one, is good for all
So bus them all.
This war not over, it’s far from over.
This bussing war has only just begun.
