HOBOKEN — Business owners are confused and concerned about a barricade that was set up in front of four businesses near the PATH station — and they say that no one will claim responsibility for it.
Ryan Blohm, an associate of the new owner of Teak restaurant, said Thursday that the barricade has been there since the storm. Yet, efforts to track down the authority who placed it there have become a fruitless pursuit. Blohm and Teak employees have reached out to NJ Transit Police, the Hoboken Police, and the office of Mayor Dawn Zimmer. So far, no one has fessed up to the roadblock.
“Teak is off the beaten path already,” said Blohm. “This is definitely hurting foot traffic. There are cones, cement barricades, many different objects covering the road.”
Blohm said that it is hard for the businesses on that stretch of Hudson Street to convey that they are indeed open for business.
