HOBOKEN — Is it possible to have too much of a good thing? Fox News and the police have sped to Observer Highway in Hoboken, where someone dumped a pile of donations for Hurricane Sandy victims, and people were on the scene picking them over as of 2 p.m.
Mile-square Hoboken was flooded by Hurricane Sandy, and many people needed food and supplies after the storm passed. When donations of certain products exceeded demand, some supplies are also being given to the town’s homeless shelter, which has long needed them. Others have been sent to other needy cities.
But somehow, a giant pile of goods was left on Observer Highway this morning, resulting in a feeding frenzy (pictured). Two people called the Reporter offices to say that the stash was being picked over. Our reporter said that as of 1:50 p.m., the police and Fox News had showed up.
Meanwhile, various local groups and businesses are holding benefits for local victims in Jersey City, Hoboken, and elsewhere as New Jersey digs out of the destruction left in Sandy’s wake.
