HOBOKEN –– The 16th Annual Grand Tasting, hosted by Sparrow Wine and Liquor Co. and FAITH services has been postponed due to Hurricane Sandy.
The event, which has attracted 1,000 attendees in the past as well as featured food from 25 local restaurants in both Hoboken and Jersey City, was originally set for Thursday Nov. 15 at the Westin Hotel in Newport, Jersey City. All proceeds from the event have gone in the past to community non-profit FAITH Services, which offers support to HIV positive men and women around the county.
FAITH Services Director Gustavo Valdes, in conjunction with Hoboken University Medical Center, released a statement on Friday postponing the event due to the flooding and damages brought on by Hurricane Sandy.
The proposed date for the rescheduling will be sometime in February. Tickets already purchased will be honored at the rescheduled event, according to the Sparrow Wine website.
