NORTH BERGEN — Power was temporarily turned off for part of North Bergen on Wednesday afternoon while workers try to fix utilities in the area so that more of town can get power back.
Those affected are residents of The Roc Harbour Development, along with some parts of downtown North Bergen.
“While most of North Bergen has regained power, some areas are still in the dark after a week,” said Mayor Nicholas Sacco. “This is simply not acceptable and I have been fighting with PSE&G constantly to get more crews to North Bergen to restore power to every neighborhood as well as our pre-school, which still has no power. Now some areas have been turned off in order for PSE&G to do repairs, including North Bergen High School and many homes. I sincerely hope that PSE&G gets these areas powered up immediately and we will stay on them for as long as it takes to get all of North Bergen back as soon as possible.”
