PSE&G work closes Five Corners Branch Library for one day on Wednesday

JERSEY CITY – The parking lot at the Five Corners Branch Library, 678 Newark Ave. in Jersey City will be closed for use tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 24, for a 12-hour period, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., due to construction work by PSE&G.
Consequently, the Bookmobile of the Jersey City Free Public Library will be off-road on Wednesday. For extra measure, the Five Corners Branch Library will be closed, as well.
PSE&G has been upgrading its North East Grid in the Five Corners area for the last couple of weeks, and now the transformer will be replaced. Oddly enough, the transformer is located underneath the parking lot of the Five Corners Branch Library.
“While we have to endure one day’s worth of inconvenience, it is clear that PSE&G’s upgrades will enhance the service of electricity for years to come,” said Library Director Priscilla Gardner.
