Sacco better not pick a fight with Stack

Dear Editor:
It is clear that the mayor of North Bergen, Nick Sacco, has not learned from the mistakes that other Hudson County political figures made against Union City Mayor and State Senator Brian P. Stack. Two years ago when Trenton redistricted the Senate seat where Brian had successfully represented, a few elected officials felt this was the end of Mayor Stack. One that comes to mind is County Executive Tom DeGise, who at the time felt that State Senator Brian P. Stack would weaken by having to run in the northern section of Jersey City. Today we know better. Brian P. Stack has become a very popular figure in this new set-up. If I was Mayor Sacco, I would not motivate Brian to get involved in North Bergen politics. If by any chance, if there is a political war between Senator Stack and Mayor Sacco, the North Bergen Senator will be in the most difficult position he has ever been in his entire political career. The fact is, Brian has the most amazing political machine in all of Hudson County. Six times a week he has over two hundred volunteers going door to door and Brian talks to over three (300) hundred residents a week.

With respect,
Raul ‘Pico’ Marquez
