HOBOKEN — An art exhibit opens on Saturday Oct. 13 at Gallery 1200 (12thh and Washington streets) and will be running until Sunday Oct. 21. The opening will be from 4-7 p.m. on Oct 13. The exhibit will feature paintings from S.K. Duff, K-8 Art teacher and Director of Service-Learning at Hoboken Charter School.
Via the Hoboken Charter School Ubantu Project and H2O for Life, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to helping to bring clean water and sanitation to orphans in Kenya. Duff visited Kenya this summer and committed to helping orphans of the Shriner’s Academy who have lost their parents to AIDS or Malaria.
After the Sept 6 fire at Hoboken Charter School, a Fire & Water theme was adopted to continue tackling the world water crisis while aiding in the recovery of the charter school.
Duff’s paintings appear in collections alongside Matisse and Picasso.
