The September 11th… Bayonne Remembers Committee held its annual Interfaith Memorial Service and Candlelight Vigil on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012.
The Committee wishes to thank the participating members of the clergy, including Rev. Dorothy A. Patterson, who served as Mistress of Ceremonies; Father Joseph Barbone; Father John Fencik; Rabbi Gordon Gladstone; Rev. Rose Cohen Hassan; Father George Griess; Father Robert Pachana; Rabbi Clifford B. Miller; Father Bernard Nowicki; the Rev. Gregory G. Perez; first counselor Mark Weaver; and Rev. Earl Munyan; and the other clergy in attendance for the heartfelt prayers, readings and reflections.
Special thanks, also, to Mayor Mark Smith; Dr. Joseph Ryan; Bayonne Police and Fire Departments; veterans’ groups; color guards; the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Dr. Patricia L. McGeehan, superintendent of schools; Tim Craig, director of music at Bayonne High School; Serge Puchinsky, BHS band director; Laura Bassett and Vincent Downes, directors of the Bayonne Community Choir; Andrew Sharp, bagpiper; Gary Chmielewski, director of Bayonne Public Works Department; Peter Amadeo, supervisor, Bayonne Parks and Recreation; the BHS marching band; the Bayonne Community Choir; McCabe Ambulance Service; and all who attended the service.
