The Ray Greaves Association has announced that its second Jeffrey T. Farley Kids’ Sportsfest will be held in Hudson County Park on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the basketball courts/pond area of the park. Children ages 8 to 14 are invited to participate in the event.
Vice President Farley of the association passed away two years ago, and the association thought it would be appropriate to plan a day of fun with sports for Bayonne children in honor of him.
The association welcomes the children to participate in basketball, volleyball, and soccer sports clinics given by local coaches and some special guests.
The sportsfest is meant to teach children to stay active and promote a healthy lifestyle, as well as teaching important life skills like leadership and teamwork.
The rain date for the event is Sept. 16. Registration forms are available at the Bayonne PAL, Bayonne Little League, and Cal Ripken ball field. Registration will also be available at the event. Refreshments will be served.
