NJ Transit to hold public meetings Wednesday regarding development on Hoboken’s south border

HOBOKEN — Representatives from NJ Transit and LCOR (a development firm) will be giving two formal presentations to the public this Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Presentations will be held in the main train waiting room of the Hoboken Terminal. The presentations will focus on the vision that NJ Transit has for redevelopment along Observer Highway to Marin Blvd.

NJ Transit and the city of Hoboken have been presenting their differing visions for the land (inclusive of the terminal and rail yards) since Sept 5, with older proposals dating back to 2008. The recently updated proposals have been presented to the City Council and members of the public. The city of Hoboken and NJ Transit have yet to meet in the middle on building heights, density and residential units, among other issues. The City Council is currently reviewing the details of both plans, in preparation to adopt a final plan.
