Dear Editor:
On a recent Saturday afternoon when I went out to throw out my garbage, I noticed two young 20-somethings painting red paint along the edges of the curbs here on Fourth and Madison Streets. I was outraged! How could the good hard working, taxpaying people of our great town put up with this? I figured that just at my intersection at Fourth and Madison you could easily fit six cars! That means that right at that spot there’s six cars won’t be able to park! And if they do they will get fined and towed!
I have written so many letters about how City Hall should stop the “tax abatements” for developers, and it just falls on deaf ears! For some reason our town is too concerned with how bad our school system is and blaming the teachers instead of the parents! And of course smoke screens like the infamous automated car garage on Garden! And just how many parks and open spaces does our town need?
We should be more concerned with all the Mom and Pop stores we’ve lost! We don’t even have a Western Union office anymore. It was on the corner of Hudson and River, now it’s just another yuppie bar where Joe Wall Street can wine and dine a potential client!
Let’s get the crooks who instigated these corrupt laws and practices out of office!
