A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church for James M. Begley, 75. He died Aug. 23 at his daughter’s home in Middletown. A lifelong Jersey City resident, he was the son of the late Katherine (Conway) and John Begley. He retired in 1988 as a mill writer for Colgate Palmolive Co., Jersey City, where he worked for 36 years. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 266, Jersey City. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Finley); father of Lisa Canzano, Susan Pires and the late Lauren Begley; grandfather of Justin and Austin; and dear brother of Robert, William and the late Jack and George Begley.
