A funeral mass was held Aug. 17 at St. Nicholas R.C. Church, Jersey City, for Joseph P. ‘Tucker’ Flatley of Jersey City. He died Aug. 14. Joseph was born in Harrison, and lived in Jersey City for over 50 years. He was a Teamster for Locals 560, 617, and 578 of Hudson and Essex Counties. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving his country from 19451951. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion of Harrison, and Knights of Columbus of Jersey City, and founder and past president of the USS Okanogan Alumni Association. He was the husband of Myra Flatley; father of Andrew Flatley and his wife Lynne, Mary Ann Morano, Timothy Flatley, Patricia McCarthy and her husband George, and the late Nancy and Joseph Flatley; brother of Catherine McConnon; grandfather of six; greatgrandfather of three. Joseph is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services arranged by the Houghton Funeral Home, Jersey City.
