BAYONNE AND BEYOND — A lawsuit filed against the city police for alleged abuse in connection with an incident on Aug. 29, 2010 will lead to an internal investigation, said Public Safety Director Jason O’Donnell.
“We just received the suit this week and we’re looking over the details,” he said.
A man filed suit saying that police allegedly pepper sprayed him and knocked him out during an arrest in 2010 after he had called 911 as a result of a car fire.
“We’ll know more when we have time to review the case,” O’Donnell said.
