JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — What is Journal Square in Jersey City without the building it’s named for — the Jersey Journal building? Those with knowledge of the situation said last week that the Jersey Journal newspaper will be moving its operations out of Journal Square and into an as yet undisclosed location in Secaucus.
The building, which is one of the center pieces of Journal Square next to the Journal Square bus terminal, has been listed with several major brokers for possible sale.
“It’s hard to tell what will become of the building,” one local official said last week. “It is a very old building.”
Several calls to the Jersey Journal for comment Friday were not returned.
