Sharing Network thankful for support

To the Editor:
I was truly amazed to see such overwhelming community support for the N.J. Sharing Network Foundation’s second Share N.J. 5K Walk/Run on June 10. Thousands flooded the streets of New Providence that day, including donor families and transplant recipients, to remember those who gave, honor those who received, and offer hope to those who continue to wait for the “gift of life.”
Blue skies and warm weather provided an ideal backdrop for every walker, runner, civic group and corporate partner that joined us that day. Together we showed how much we care about those touched by organ donation and transplantation.
I was also deeply moved by the philanthropic generosity displayed at the Share N.J. 5K. The event has already raised a record-breaking $560,000, and we’re still receiving contributions, moving us closer to our goal of $625,000. The N.J. Sharing Network Foundation is committed to supporting the work of N.J. Sharing Network and to increasing the number of lives saved through education, research, public awareness, and donor family support about the life-saving benefits of organ donation and transplantation.
On behalf of N.J. Sharing Network and its Foundation, I thank all those who supported this year’s Share N.J. 5K and joined us to honor and remember those touched by the miracle of organ donation and transplantation.
