KOEHLER, SUE

A funeral mass was held June 25 at St. Michaels Church for Sue Koehler, 97. She passed away peacefully on June 20. Born in Jeddo (Freeland), Pa., to the late John and Sue Paranac, Sue was a coal miners’s daughter. Sue was a shirt factory presser and later a homemaker who enjoyed being a wife and mother. A 60 year Jersey City resident, she was an avid Bingo enthusiast and churchgoer, having been a parishioner at Sacred Heart, St. Nicholas and St. Michaels. She was also an avid Yankees fan. Her faith was a prominent part of her everyday routine. She was predeceased by her husband Robert “Buddy” Koehler, siblings, Mary, Mike, Helen Bicking, John, Margaret Weber, Joseph and George and Elizabeth Sullivan. She is survived by her sister Ann Weber and brother Stephen Paranac; her daughter Joan Koehler and life partner Jan Nordland who lovingly cared for her throughout her later years as well as many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. Thanks to all her caregivers at St. Ann’s Home, who gave Sue such a wonderful, loving, quality of life. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
