Dear Editor:
I am appalled that someone would write such a disheartening letter. I was at the funeral in question, and let me tell you that the person in question was in no way friendless. That said person had a line of family and friends that was 3 hours long in waiting to pay their respects. If Anonymous knew anything about funeral’s, when a person is to be cremated they are brought to the crematory alone. That is the protocol. For you to take the time to write such a letter shows your character. The deceased was a leader to all who knew him. He was a well respected human being. He was loved by all. Obviously in reading your letter, you must have known who was in the coffin. Why would someone go out of their way to constantly have something posted, that would only bring hurt to the family and friends of the deceased. It wasn’t politic’s that gave him such a motorcade escort. It was his character, and what he and his family meant to everyone. For that reason, and only that reason was why he was showered with such respect. If you have the guts to write such a letter then you should have the guts to attach your name to it.
