A funeral mass took place June 26 at Our Lady of Mercy Church for Dennis A. Hudak, 64. He died suddenly June 20 at Bayonne Medical Center. A lifelong Jersey City resident, he was the son of the late Dorothy and John Hudak. He retired in 2012 as captain with the Jersey City Fire Dept after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Firemen’s Benevolent Association and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 266, Jersey City. He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran who served in Viet Nam. He received two Purple Hearts and a combat infantry badge for his service. He was the husband of Kathleen Kane Hudak; father of Denise Lorfink and her husband Eric, Karen Medina and her husband Ivan, Lauren Hudak and Patricia Hudak; grandfather of Jeremy Hudak and Derek Lorfink; brother of Michael and Robert Hudak, Dorothy French and the late John Hudak. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
