Give the gift of life; be an organ donor

Dear Editor:
NJ Sharing Network’s dedicated team of staff and volunteers works year-round to raise awareness of the “gift of life” that comes from organ and tissue donation. We also encourage New Jersey residents to register as an organ donor to save more lives.
Unfortunately, we are faced with a critical shortage of registered organ donors – both here in New Jersey and across the country. Close to 5,000 residents here in the Garden State are currently waiting for an organ transplant. While the number of U.S. residents needing a life-saving transplant is 114,000 and counting.
NJ Sharing Network needs your help now. Preparation for the 2nd annual Share NJ 5K Race to Save Lives Through Organ & Tissue Donation on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in New Providence, N.J. continues. Funds raised at the 5K help support NJ Sharing Network’s service programs for organ donor families and educational initiatives to register organ donors.
Now is the time for individuals, corporations, and small businesses to commit their team participation. The Share NJ Share 5K Walk/Race invites you and your organization to help us save lives through the miracle of organ and tissue donation.
To sign up for the Share NJ 5K Walk/Race, visit www.ShareNJ5K.org or contact Alli Keleman at (908) 516-5696.

Yours Truly,
Joe Roth
