Funeral services were held June 27 for Wilton A. Bridgeforth, Sr. of Jersey City, 91. He passed away June 19. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Eva Mae Johnson and Stanley Bridgeforth. At an early age, he was brought to Jersey City and grew up attending public schools of Jersey City. He worked for Western Electric in Kearny and later Borden Foods Company, Bronx, as a warehouseman for 24 years before retiring. After retiring, he took on a job with Burns Int’l Security as a security guard for Inland Steel until they closed and he became a full time husband and dad. He was the husband of Hortense Bridgeforth; father of William B. Bridgeforth, Tamara D. Bridgeforth, Carol Bridgeforth, Leslie Caffee and the late Wilton A. Bridgeforth, Jr.; brother of Stanley (Marilyn) Bridgeforth; grandfather of 7; great grandfather of 7, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
