A letter of thanks

Dear Editor:
On June 14, 2012, my brother, John F. Hildemann passed away after a battle with cancer. John was a long-time school teacher in the city of Hoboken and loved by many. Throughout his career as a middle school teacher and basketball coach, John had a positive influence on hundreds of children in Hoboken as was clear from the outpouring of grief and support after his death. Even though I already knew it, it was amazing to see so many people come forward to tell me how much John influenced and changed their lives.
I want to thank everyone who offered support during this difficult time to me and my sister Margie.
Special thanks go to John McNight, all of my fellow brothers and sisters at the Hoboken Elks for their support at the wake and the wonderful repast that was provided in John’s honor. Also, thanks to Buddy Matthews and Mark Singleton for speaking at the funeral, Peter Ising for his musical tribute to John and all who offered their support and love. Hoboken is a wonderful place and even though we will all miss John, he will live on in our memories.

Sincerely,
Ambrode Hildemann
