NOMINATED

Pictured is Lyndsey M. Jones, student at St. Augustine’s School in Union City, who was recently nominated for the N.J. Seeds Scholar’s Program, a scholarship program dedicated to the educational future of participating students. Jones has also been nominated by the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., to represent her school. Jones has consistently maintained honor roll status and has received many awards for her academic performance and community service. She has also been awarded in spelling bee, social studies, and athletic competitions. She is a cadet with the Girl Scout Troop 12005 in West New York. In her interview for the N.J. Seeds Program when asked what she would do if given one million dollars, she responded, “I would use that money to build a school in Africa, and also set up a book drive to donate to schools in the poorest areas in our country, so that other kids can have the same opportunities I have.”
